Getting Started
How do I install Variants Description Pro?
Simply visit the Shopify App Store, search for 'Variants Description Pro', and click 'Install'. The app will automatically set up everything you need. After installation, go to Apps → Variants Description Pro in your Shopify admin.
Do I need any coding knowledge?
No coding required! The app includes drag-and-drop theme blocks that you can add through Shopify's Theme Editor. Just go to Online Store → Customize, and add our 'Variant Description' block to your product template.
Which Shopify plans are supported?
Variants Description Pro works with all Shopify plans - Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Plus. The theme blocks work with all Online Store 2.0 themes.

How does AI description generation work?
Our AI analyzes your product title, description, and variant options (like size, color, material) to generate unique, SEO-optimized descriptions for each variant. You can customize the tone (professional, friendly, luxury) and length (short, medium, long).
Which languages are supported?
We support all languages available in your Shopify store. The app automatically detects your published languages and can translate descriptions to any of them. Popular languages include English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, and Portuguese.
Can I use the app for products without variants?
The app is specifically designed for products with variants. For single-variant products, you would typically use Shopify's built-in product description field instead.
How does the Automation Studio work?
Once enabled, Automation Studio automatically generates descriptions and translations whenever you create a new product. It uses webhooks to detect new products and processes them within seconds - no manual work required.
Theme Integration
How do I display variant descriptions on my store?
Go to Settings → Theme Blocks in the app, then enable the App Embed. After that, open your Theme Editor (Online Store → Customize), navigate to your product template, and add the 'Variant Description' block where you want it to appear.
Will the description update when customers select a different variant?
Yes! The theme block automatically detects variant changes and updates the displayed description in real-time - no page reload needed.
Can I customize the styling of the description block?
Yes, the theme block includes settings for font size, colors, padding, and more. You can also add custom CSS if you need more advanced styling.
Pricing & Billing
Is there a free plan?
Yes! Our Free plan includes up to 3 products with variant descriptions, the rich text editor, theme blocks, and multi-language support. It's perfect for testing the app or for small stores.
How does the free trial work?
Starter and Professional plans include a 7-day free trial. You can test all features without being charged. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, you'll be billed through your Shopify invoice.
Can I change plans anytime?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time. When upgrading, you get immediate access to new features. When downgrading, the change takes effect at your next billing cycle.
What payment methods are accepted?
All payments are processed through Shopify's billing system, so you'll pay with whatever payment method you have on file with Shopify. Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice.
AI Credits
What are AI credits?
AI credits are used for AI-powered features like description generation, translation, and SEO optimization. Professional and Enterprise plans include monthly credits, and you can purchase additional credit packages as needed.
How many credits does each action use?
Generating a description uses 1 credit. Translating to one language uses 1 credit. Generating SEO (meta title + description) uses 1 credit. Bulk operations use 1 credit per variant processed.
Do unused credits roll over?
Monthly plan credits reset each billing cycle. Purchased credit packages never expire and can be used anytime.
Troubleshooting
Why isn't the description showing on my store?
First, make sure you've enabled the App Embed in Settings → Theme Blocks. Then check that you've added the 'Variant Description' block to your product template in the Theme Editor. Finally, verify that the variant actually has a description saved.
The AI generated content in the wrong language
Check your AI settings in the app. Make sure the 'Generation Language' matches your shop's primary language. You can always regenerate with the correct language selected.
My translations aren't appearing
Translations are stored using Shopify's native Translations API. Make sure the target language is published in your Shopify language settings (Settings → Languages). Then switch your theme preview to that language to verify.
